A non-profit group that works against childhood obesity and eating disorders is taking another step in its goal to get body image taught in Pennsylvania schools.
Ivy Silver, co-founder of A Chance To Heal, a non-profit eating disorders prevention and advocacy organization based in Jenkintown, says more and more kids are suffering from the results of poor body image and self esteem and more adults need to be taught how to fight it. A seminar, Body Talk, is being held Saturday at Abington Hospital:
"The best way to effect the most change the quickest is to work with those people who direct contact with our children: scout leaders, school counselors and pediatricians and coaches, people like that, who touch our children's lives, day in and day out, are going to be taught a program by Catherine Steiner-Adair, called Full of Ourselves, so kids can feel strong about themselves."
