WOMENS WAY HONORS A CHANCE TO HEAL CO-FOUNDER

Philadelphia, Pa., May 4, 2006 -- Ivy E. Silver, co-founder of A Chance to Heal, was honored by WOMENS WAY, the funding federation, at its annual dinner. She accepted the organization's Leadership Award at a dinner attended by more than 1,600 of the Philadelphia region’s leaders and supporters of services to women.

According to Melissa Weiler Gerber, WOMENS WAY executive director, “Just as WOMENS WAY historically has turned the spotlight on issues that were just whispered about, Ivy and A Chance to Heal are taking eating disorders public. Eating disorders strike women and girls disproportionately. The WOMENS WAY board is honoring Ivy for the courage she has shown in sharing her family’s struggle and forming A Chance to Heal to raise awareness and funds to support treatment.

“We are also honoring her for her leadership in business. As principal and founder of The Commonwealth Consulting Group, Ivy developed a niche in working with non-profits to provide human resources and benefits counsel, often to organizations that can’t afford to have a human resource expert on staff. She’s a mentor to the women on her staff, and a role model,&rdquo said Weiler Gerber.

Founded in 1977, WOMENS WAY is the country’s oldest and largest women’s funding federation. It raises money and public awareness to fight for and achieve advocacy for women’s equality, safety, self-sufficiency and reproductive freedom through women-centered funding, advocacy and education. It supports 30 agencies, touching the lives of 260,000 women and their families.
