A Chance to Heal, a not-for-profit established to provide advocacy and support for treatment for eating disorders, will host "My Body, Myself," a benefit art sale of body adornment and wearable art, on November 10, 2005 from 5:30 to 8:00 at the Snyderman-Works Gallery, 303 Cherry Street, Philadelphia. Tickets to the event, which includes light food and drinks, are $25. For information and reservations, call 215 885-2420 or visit www.achancetoheal.org.

The auction will feature jewelry donated by established and emerging artists who work in silver, gold, fiber, beads, glass, found and painted media. The work of emerging and established artists' work will be for sale at a fixed price of $100 and $200, respectively. At 7:00, there will be a live auction of pieces by nationally known artists.

"The event is a great opportunity to buy the perfect gift for yourself, friends and family, have fun and contribute to a great cause," said A Chance to Heal co-founder Ivy Silver.

As many as 10 million females and 1 million males in the U.S. suffer from an eating disorder, including anorexia, bulimia or binge eating, which can lead to long-term physical damage, and even death. For those who seek treatment, their financial resources are frequently exhausted before they reach recovery.

A Chance to Heal is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization formed to provide information, fund-raising and advocacy for people with eating disorders. The Foundation's goal is to raise $100,000 in its first year to provide treatment grants for patients in the Philadelphia region, and $1 million by 2008.
