
Alexis earned a BA in English Creative Writing in 2005 from East Stroudsburg University. Alexis is a founding member of East Stroudsburg University's Body Confidence Consortium, a group of faculty, staff and students who are committed to decreasing eating disorders and increasing positive awareness on the campus and in the community. Alexis speaks to college psychology classes, sports teams and psychology interns about her experiences with anorexia, treatment, and recovery. Alexis is an MFA candidate in Creative Writing at American University; she is currently working on a journalism feature about the Eating Disorders Coalition and legislative issues surrounding eating disorders and a paper about first-person narratives within the eating disorder community.

Kirah Miles graduated from The University of Maryland in 2005 with a major in Spanish and a citation in Business Management for Foreign Languages. Kirah actively played Lacrosse at The University of Maryland and is a spring lacrosse coach. Kirah is currently employed at Topkapi Investments, an international real estate investment firm.

Alexis graduated from the Academy of the New Church Girls School in 2006. Alexis introduced A Chance to Heal Foundation in 2006 to the Academy of the New Church with an informative Body Image presentation facilitated by Harin Feibish. Alexis is currently taking a gap year to travel abroad and do community service in Spain and Coast Rica. She will attend Penn State University at University Park in the fall of 2007.

Marni graduated from Germantown Friends School in 2006. Currently enrolled at Vanderbilt University where she is a Human and Organizational Development major. During the school year 2005-2006 Marni lead the Eating and Body Image Awareness Support Group at Germantown Friends School. Marni played an instrumental role in engaging A Chance to Heal Foundation to help raise awareness for National Eating Disorders Awareness Week for the entire Germantown Friends School student body. Marni also played a key role expanding the Body Image Awareness Support Group to include the middle school.

Having witnessed first hand the losses associated with eating disorders and the cost and complexity of recovery, Rachel Silver incubated A Chance to Heal Foundation. Rachel is currently a junior at the University of Miami, pledge mom for her sorority Sigma Delta Tau, and has a summer long internship at Dolce and Gabbana in New York City. She has been featured on Good Morning America and has spoken out about the need for friends to intervene on behalf of one another. Rachel has successfully recovered from an eating disorder and leads the Junior Advisory Board.

Shlomit graduated from Cabrini College in 2003 with a degree in early childhood and elementary education. Shlomit has taught several grade levels including middle school. Shlomit is currently employed by Jewish Family and Children's Service in the Lieberman Jewish Family Life Education Department. Shlomit is deeply committed to promoting healthy body-and-emotional esteem in people of all ages.

Whitney is a student at Middlebury College in Vermont, where she is majoring in Sociology & Anthropology. Whitney led the Eating Awareness Peer Support Group during her Junior and Senior years at Germantown Friends School. She has recently been appointed president of Middlebury College's Eating Disorder Division of Active Minds, a national organization which promotes dialogues of mental health issues on college campuses. Whitney has also interned with Belmont Psychiatric Center's Eating Disorder unit for the past two years. Whitney also plays Varsity Lacrosse for Middlebury College.
